Lines of Action
Doing development differently.
Agriculture, nutrition, and health aren’t just connected—they’re inseparable. That’s why we invest in innovations, education, entrepreneurship, and policy interventions that strengthen this entire ecosystem. By working with communities, governments, and partners, we transform food systems, improve diets, and enhance health outcomes.
Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Entrepreneurship in the primary sector contributes to the renewal and strengthening of local economies and communities while creating new opportunities and perspectives for Kenya agricultural products. The agri-food sector also presents significant opportunities for startups, as high technology and data utilization play a vital role. Additionally, scientific research generates innovative solutions in agri-food technology, offering valuable business opportunities with high capital intensity. At the same time, it is essential to educate the end users on the solutions that startups offer.
Strategic Initiatives
We recognize the interconnectedness of strategic initiatives across key thematic areas, including Climate Change, Cultural & Creative Sectors & Industries, Digitalisation, Future of Food, Health Innovation, Sustainable Energy, Added-Value Manufacturing, and Raw Materials.
In addition to our targeted programs, Greenloop Foundation leads and participates in strategic, cross-cutting initiatives that shape the long-term direction of Kenya’s agrifood and environmental sectors.
Regional Development
We implement place-based initiatives designed to uplift local communities by strengthening regional agrifood systems. Our work includes supporting primary producers, improving market linkages, and promoting unique regional products to enhance livelihoods and foster sustainable economic growth across Kenya.
